Although getting back into it at 30 something, I originally started yoga around 18 and have taken quite a few classes at many places over the years. Her practices- especially the one I took today- are easily in my top 5 most memorable. Firstly, I love that she doesn't make this like a pilates class, which no offense at all to Pilates (it's just not for me), I've seen creeping in to more and more yoga practices in the form of something like straight up crunches or sit-ups (and no, not even like a low to high to low boat, but a straight up sit-up). Second, she keeps the poses traditional and simple and YES- Simple is GOOD! The flows have a natural intuitive sense of movement to them and aren't choppy or so bizarre that you spend half the time just trying to figure out the transition and miss the pose and realize your breath is all off sync with the movement. Overall, one of my favorite yoga instructors! Plus, she goes the extra mile and gives everyone a cold, wet towel towards the end of class which is just a perfect "prop" for Shavasana!

Not everyone understands the delicate lymphatic system is and how important it is to adhere to a certain level of light pressure and direction to properly move the lymph, but she does. In addition to a typical Thai massage, he included Thai cupping and hot stones. It was both a very relaxing and effective 60 minute massage. The pressure was spot on and Matt made a point to confirm it was the right amount at appropriate intervals. At the start of the session, Matt asked if there were any areas of particular concern. During the last 10 minutes, he revisited my shoulders and ensured he worked out as many as the knots and kinks as possible. I’m going to try to make this a monthly ritual!
